What we collect

Chess Unblocked has no accounts and no advertising. We do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details.

Analytics (Microsoft Clarity)

We use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use the site, for example which pages are visited, how far people scroll, where they click, and whether something is broken. Clarity records this through cookies and similar technology and collects information such as your device type, browser, approximate location and anonymised session recordings of how the page is used. We use this only to improve the site. Data is processed by Microsoft under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. You can block it with your browser's privacy settings or a content blocker; the chess game keeps working either way.

What is stored on your device

The current game (the list of moves) and your board settings are saved in your browser's local storage so that a game survives a page reload. This data never leaves your device. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

The site also registers a service worker, which keeps a copy of the site's files in your browser so the board can load faster and without a connection on later visits.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse. See Netlify's privacy policy for details.

If what we collect changes, this page will be updated first.
